Capital providers
Lenders, REITs, private equity firms, and institutional investors evaluating senior housing as an asset class need the facts and access to experts in the field that NIC provides.
The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC), a 501(c)(3) organization, works to enable access and choice by providing data, analytics, and connections that bring together investors and providers.
In 1991, NIC was founded to bring transparency to the senior housing and care sector. At the time, senior housing and care properties were treated as a niche real estate category. With little reliable data to support investment decisions, investors had few ways to evaluate risk, compare markets, or track performance across the sector.
Over more than three decades, NIC built the infrastructure to provide that transparency: sector data and analytics through its research efforts and strategic alliance with NIC MAP, a slate of educational programs for investment and finance professionals, and industry-leading national conferences that bring capital providers and operators into the same room. Today, NIC serves as the connector for a sector spanning skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, and memory care.
NIC’s insights and expertise serve an array of industry stakeholders:
