National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care, Inc. (NIC) recognizes that users may have concerns about privacy issues as they navigate the Internet. NIC will use reasonable efforts to ensure that the information you provide remains private and is used only for the purposes stated below. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit our website, including, as applicable, making a purchase through the NIC online store on our website.

Collected Information

We collect general information about the users of our site. This information helps us determine which parts of the site visitors find most valuable as well as how we can continually improve the services we provide. For example, we automatically collect certain information about the device that you use to access our site, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device/browser (see below).

We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer our Website. We may also use your email address to communicate with you (see below).

Users may use NIC’s website without registering, but registration must occur in order to use any of the personalization services. Our site’s registration form requires specific contact information: name, e-mail address, etc. We use the customer contact information to learn more about our visitors. The contact information is also used to contact users when necessary. Contact information may be shared with our affiliate, NIC MAP Vision.

We may also share the information we collect in conjunction with your use of NIC’s website to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect NIC’s rights as we deem necessary.

E-mail messages

NIC communicates with its users by e-mail for specific web-related functions, such as password reminders. Because these messages are critical to site use, users will not be able to opt-out of receiving such messages.

Users who register with NIC receive e-mails from us that we feel may be of interest, including messages from our affiliate, NIC MAP Vision. Registered users may opt-out of receiving these messages by:

Cookies

At NIC, we use a feature on your Internet browser called a “cookie”. A cookie is a small file that your web browser places on your device’s hard drive to identify you as a user. NIC does not use cookies to collect any personal information about users, nor do we sell or make them available to other organizations.

You may disable the cookie function on your browser or erase the contents in your cookies file. To do this, consult the help features in your browser and program manager. However, please bear in mind that doing this prevents the NIC website from recognizing you as a previous user.

EU Residents

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information that NIC holds about you, and to ask that your personal information is corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us by:

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example, if you make a purchase through the NIC online store on our website), or otherwise to pursue NIC’s legitimate business interests referenced above. Please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States.

NIC meets the guidelines of TRUSTe’s Children’s program.

General Inquires & Feedback

NIC authors and publishes original content on its website, therefore we don’t accept guest posts.
