Jamie Gray Named NIC Director of Volunteer Engagement

Gray will lead NIC’s growing base of volunteer experts in sharing actionable insights

The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) named Jamie Gray, MS, CVA the director of volunteer engagement, effective October 1, 2023.

Gray will oversee NIC’s volunteer relations to help achieve its strategic objective to increase volunteer engagement. She will develop programs to recruit, onboard, and integrate new volunteers, and build a robust system of training, support, and stewardship to support staff’s work to maximize the talents and contributions of NIC volunteers.

“The volunteer program at NIC adds significant value and expertise to NIC’s offerings and leadership,” said Susan Barlow, chair of NIC’s board of directors. “Gray’s skills will help NIC uncover the unique contributions of each volunteer leader and ensure that their time is well spent. This is a tremendous addition to NIC’s team.”

Gray is a Certified Volunteer Administrator with extensive experience designing and promoting tools and programs to support volunteer engagement, leadership development and governance, sharing best practices with global audiences, and collaborating with staff and volunteers at all levels to accomplish objectives. She was the volunteer engagement specialist at the Project Management Institute for more than a decade, where she served as the staff liaison for two strategic-level volunteer committees and ensured effective recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers across departments.

“I am excited to use my skills to create effective, coordinated, and meaningful volunteer experiences for all who donate their time and talents to NIC,” said Gray. “I look forward to determining how each volunteer’s expertise, commitment and passion can help advance the strategic goals of NIC and improve the lives of older adults.”

“NIC is committed to improving access to care and housing for older adults, and the organization could not do so without the help of our industry experts,” said Raymond Braun, NIC’s president and CEO. “By adding a director of volunteer engagement to our team, NIC can more effectively engage volunteers to advance its strategic plan.”
