Roberto Muñiz is a dedicated health care and aging services executive whose career is driven by a lifelong passion for improving care and services for older adults. Known for his astute strategic planning and innovative approach, Roberto continually seeks new ways to deliver best-in-class, person-centered care to a diverse and growing senior population.
For nearly three decades as President and CEO of Parker Health Group, Roberto transformed the not-for-profit organization from two small nursing homes into a nationally recognized leader in aging services with five thriving communities, offering a comprehensive continuum of care across residential, home, and community settings in New Jersey. His leadership has advanced small-home models, dignity-driven practices, and innovations that make aging more enriching for seniors and families.
Roberto is widely recognized as an expert leader in the aging services field, having served in key local, state, and national roles, including Chair of LeadingAge, representing more than 5,400 mission-driven providers nationwide. A passionate educator, he teaches health care administration, aging and public policy, and long-term care management, where he mentors future leaders in health care at Rutgers University, serving as a Senior Health Fellow and Instructor at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, and as an adjunct at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS).
His commitment to advancing geriatric care includes establishing the Parker Health Group Division of Geriatrics at Rutgers RWJMS, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, applied research, and education to improve outcomes for older adults. Roberto also led the founding of the Parker Advanced Care Institute (PACI), which focuses on primary medical and palliative care services delivered at home.
Roberto holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health Administration and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University. He is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) in New Jersey and New York.
