Annapolis, Md. (January 31, 2019)—The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) today announced that six executives from the seniors housing and care and real estate investment sectors have been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The new board members are:

Susan J. Barlow, co-founder and managing partner at Blue Moon Capital Partners; Boston, Mass.
David M. Boitano, senior investment officer at Ventas, Inc.; Fircrest, Wash.
Kai Hsiao, chief executive officer of Eclipse Senior Living; Lake Oswego, Ore.
John P. Rijos, co-founder and operating partner of Chicago Pacific Founders (CPF); Chicago, Ill.
Kenneth C. Segarnick, chief corporate officer of Brandywine Living; Mount Laurel, N.J.
Kendall K. Young, executive vice president of senior housing at HCP, Inc.; Irvine, Calif.

“I look forward to working closely with these new Board directors,” said Brian Jurutka, president and CEO of NIC. “These experts bring valuable new perspectives, observations and experience that will help our team continue to offer best-in-class data, analytics and networking opportunities to the seniors housing and care sector, ultimately benefiting the millions of seniors they serve. NIC is honored to have such an accomplished and knowledgeable group of leaders contribute their time and energy to support our mission, and we also thank the outgoing directors for their service.”

In addition to providing transparency for the seniors housing and care sector through data and analytics and connecting leaders through high-quality annual events, NIC, led by its Board, is preparing decision-makers for collaborative relationships with the healthcare sector. Through research, events, publications, and outreach, NIC is engaging leaders across the seniors housing, skilled nursing, and healthcare sectors as changing market conditions, demographics, and policy drive the need for innovative, cross-silo partnerships. NIC is also engaging with industry leaders and policymakers on the issue of access and choice for America’s middle-income elders.

The new Board members replace Brad Razook, Tom Herzog, John Cobb, Ed Kenny, Judy Marczewski and Doug Korey, who helped govern NIC for many years.
