During these unprecedented times, our deepest concerns go out to those directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and those on the frontline keeping residents of seniors housing and skilled nursing communities safe. We understand that seniors housing and skilled nursing operators are bearing tremendous burdens, and NIC applauds your efforts to protect and serve residents of seniors housing and skilled nursing communities.

NIC is responding by doing what we do best − delivering data, analytics, and connections – to continue to provide transparency to the sector. We’ve launched numerous initiatives to speed the delivery of quality data and information to facilitate problem-solving and decision making across the industry. Executive Survey Insights

NIC has created important benchmarks on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on seniors housing and care that will allow the market to be better informed on a timely basis. Surveys are distributed on a staggered, biweekly basis.

Executive Survey Insights – Market Fundamentals covers the impact of COVID-19 on occupancy rates, move-in and move-out rates, development pipelines, staffing, and supports for frontline community employees and staff.

Submit Data via Weekly Survey Link

Owner/operator executives (one per company) can provide data, by completing the survey regularly. A sneak peek of the results are shared with survey participants on Wednesday evenings with public release Thursday mornings.

Executive Survey Insights – COVID-19 was designed to provide insights into how COVID-19 penetration differs across care segments from both a cumulative and in-place perspective. This survey has been suspended as of August 2020. See Executive Survey Insights – Market Fundamentals results above for timely insights on the impact of COVID-19 on seniors housing and care.

NIC’s new Skilled Nursing COVID-19 Tracker provides an indicator on the rate of virus spread within U.S. skilled nursing facilities by geographic location, offering insight on where cases are spreading, slowing, or remaining flat.

  • Interactive dashboard. Sort by map, or filter by U.S. region, subregion, state, and county
  • View week-over-week comparisons at both state and county levels.
  • See rate of change of confirmed cases

COVID-19 Reach Tracker

The COVID-19 Reach Tracker report provides additional context to state-reported numbers of residents testing positive for COVID-19 within skilled nursing and seniors housing properties (independent living, assisted living, memory care). Data is reported by metropolitan area within reporting states and is updated regularly as states update their data and additional reporting is provided by government sources.
