Nicole Pretre

President & CEO / Cedar Community

Nicole Pretre serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Community, a multi-site senior living organization based in West Bend, Wisconsin. Through her leadership, Nicole is driving strategic growth, diversifying revenue, and projecting the future needs of the organization, while staying focused on its not-for-profit mission. She recently directed the $40 million-dollar repositioning of Cedar Community’s Cedar Lake Campus, and has been involved in more than $80 million-dollars in new development for Cedar Community over the past decade.

Nicole was recently named a Wisconsin Titan 100, an award recognizing the top 100 C-Suite executives in the state. She currently serves on the board of directors for LeadingAge Wisconsin, and Economic Development Washington County. In her previous role as Cedar Community’s Vice President of Development, Nicole was honored as the 2020 Chief Marketing Officer of the year by the Milwaukee Business Journal, and she was awarded the 2019 Impact Award for Donor Stewardship and Engagement from the Southeast Wisconsin chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Nicole, a credentialed Gerontologist, is an accomplished national thought leader and speaker on leadership, senior living and advocacy, and she has been a presenter at numerous state and national conferences, as well as being a featured guest on national podcasts and webinars. Nicole holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master’s degree in Gerontology from UMass-Boston, and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy.

Prior to her professional career in senior living and healthcare, Nicole was an Emmy-nominated television journalist and executive producer, holding numerous awards from the Associated Press, the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association, and the Milwaukee Press Club.
