2018 NIC Talks

More than 3,000 leaders and stakeholders from the seniors housing and care industry gath­ered in Chica­go, October 17-19, for the 2018 NIC Fall Conference.  The three-day conference provid­ed opportunities for attendees to network and gain insights into current market trends and innovations as well as the disruptions facing the industry. The conference program featured:

  • Gary Cohn, former Director of the National Economic Council, shared his perspective on the U.S. economy and where it is headed as the influences of a changing global economy, more restrictive monetary policy, and tax reform take root
  • A keynote from Vivek Wadhwa, Global tech entrepreneur, author, academic and advocate. He will discuss the practical solutions that new technological advances such as robots, artificial intelligence and healthcare apps will make possible in the near future

Peer-to-Peer Salons — 60-minute moderated conversations on the labor market, penetration rates, and underwriting.

Innovations that Work —featured 6 “Lightning Talks,” each of which highlights a successfully implemented seniors housing innovation in only 7 minutes and 20 seconds.

The highly popular NIC Talks series returned with thought leaders in fields as diverse as healthcare, consumer technology, human resources and even improv, who will share their insights and the innovations that will impact the future of aging.
