NIC Announces '2010 National Skilled Nursing Investment Forum'
New Event to be Co-Located with NIC Regional Symposium

Annapolis, Md. – The National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC) is holding
an investment-focused conference for owners, operators, investors, association leaders, and government
representatives who have specific interest in the skilled nursing sector. The National Skilled Nursing
Investment Forum, "Moving from Yesterday to Tomorrow: Capital and Reimbursement Strategies," will debut
at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, San Diego, Calif., on March 8-10, 2010, and is planned to become
an annual event.
"I expect this to become one of the premier nursing home conferences in America," said James Gomez,
CEO and president of the California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF). "It will bring together
important stakeholders for this sector in one spot. As such, it's a 'can't-miss' event for multi-facility
owners."
"With the average skilled nursing facility now 30-40 years old and continuing to lose occupancy each
year to newer competitive options, the focus of this inaugural Forum is a critical one," said Robert
G. Kramer, president of NIC. "It will connect those who have already gone through the process of modernizing

plus it will provide in-depth discussions on best practices, accessing capital and reimbursement strategies."

expenditures by focusing on staff training and creating a more resident-centered environment."

on March 9-11, 2010, was created for local or regional-based seniors housing and care operators and
will have a more private-pay focus.

The early bird rate for the 2010 National Skilled Nursing Investment Forum is $1000 for general (non-operator)
attendees; $1350 after January 15, 2010. The rate includes free admission to the NIC Regional Symposium.
For operators, the rate is $600, which increases to $750 after the early bird deadline. Operators pay
just $350 more to attend the Symposium.
