Officers

Kathryn A. Sweeney
Chair

Kathryn A. Sweeney is responsible for the investment management of GPT’s US Seniors’ Housing Portfolio. This involves the development of asset plans for each of the communities in which GPT has an ownership interest in the New England region of the US as well as overseeing GPT’s investment in the manager of the Portfolio, Benchmark Assisted Living (BAL). Kathryn is based in the BAL Head Office in Boston, USA.

Kathryn has over 11 years of experience in developing and executing senior housing investment strategies. In her most recent role at AEW she was a Portfolio Manager overseeing more than $1 billion of senior living investments in major metropolitan markets in the US. Her prior experience includes the investment management of a $400 million portfolio of senior housing investments located in New England, the Mid Atlantic and the West Coast of the US.

Kathryn serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care Industry (NIC), is a member of New England Women in Real Estate and a graduate of Boston University.


Kevin McMeen
Vice Chair

Mr. McMeen is a founder of MidCap Financial LLC, where he serves as the President of the real estate division and sits on the company’s credit committee. Formed in September, 2008, MidCap Financial LLC is a start up finance company focused on the healthcare market, offering real estate, working capital, leveraged lending and venture lending products of $5.0 million and above. Mr. McMeen is responsible for all aspects of the real estate business which focuses on seniors housing facilities, long term care properties and medical office buildings.

Prior to starting MidCap Financial LLC, Mr. McMeen served as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch Capital between 2004 and 2008, where he was responsible for the real estate segment of the Healthcare Finance Group. This division was a national provider of real estate based capital to the healthcare industry, including seniors housing, long term care assets and medical office buildings. Products ranged from low leverage portfolio loans to high leverage first mortgages and mezzanine debt. Prior to its sale to GE Capital, the real estate group managed a loan portfolio of approximately $3.0 billion in commitments. Mr. McMeen grew the group’s assets from $300 million to $2.0 billion while growing pre-tax net income to over $80 million.

Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Capital, Mr. McMeen led the healthcare real estate segment of GE Healthcare Financial Services and for Heller Financial, Inc. prior to GE’s purchase of Heller. As Senior Vice President of Real Estate, Mr. McMeen grew the healthcare real estate business from a $250 million portfolio in 1999 to over $1.5 billion in 2003. In the process, he established a $600 million medical office building JV with HCP REIT and expanded the business into Europe with the opening of a London office in 2003.

Mr. McMeen serves as the Vice Chair on the board of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry, he served on the advisory board of the Erickson Executive Education program at University of Maryland Baltimore County, and is an active member of the American Seniors Housing Association.


George V. Hager Jr.
Secretary

George serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genesis HealthCare. Prior to becoming CEO, George was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was responsible for corporate finance, information services, reimbursement and risk management. He joined Genesis in 1992 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1994. George has over 20 years experience in the health care industry including leading KPMG LLP's health care practice in Philadelphia and participation in the Philadelphia Board of Public Governance.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dickinson College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Management. He is a certified public accountant; Board member and audit committee chair of Adolor Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company; member of the Board of Trustees and finance committee of The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia; and member of the Board, executive and strategic planning committees of the National Investment Center.


Randy Richardson
Treasurer

Randy Richardson leads Classic Residence by Hyatt’s strategic growth initiatives, which are designed to enhance the economic value of the company and further position the company as an industry leader. Under his leadership, the company has completed or initiated over $1 billion of new development. Richardson’s operations experience has enabled the company to establish itself as a first class operator of senior living communities.

Richardson has an extensive background in property development, management, and marketing. Before joining Classic Residence, he served as Senior Vice President of Asset Management for General Growth Properties, Inc. In this position, he was responsible for a portfolio of properties located nationwide, with a market value in excess of $4 billion. Richardson was responsible for all operational issues as well as several development, acquisition and expansion projects in his portfolio.

Richardson also serves on several industry trade organizations and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, majoring in marketing/economics.



Raymond W. Braun
Immediate Past Chair

Raymond W. Braun, is Managing Member of Prospects Advisory Group LLC. Prior to joining the Company in 2009, Mr. Braun served as President of Health Care REIT, Inc. and as a partner with the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick. Mr. Braun has a B.S. from Bowling Green State University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.


Robert G. Kramer
President


Mr. Kramer is founder and president of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC), a non-profit education and resource center that serves debt and equity investors interested in the seniors housing and long term care industry. Mr. Kramer, a frequent writer and speaker on trends in seniors housing and long term care, has directed NIC since its inception in 1991.

A former county government official and Maryland state legislator, Mr. Kramer was a leader on health and environmental issues while representing the state capital of Annapolis in the 1980s. Mr. Kramer was educated at Harvard and Oxford Universities and also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary.
