The Business Case for Modernizing Your Facility: Moving from Yesterday’s Skilled Nursing Model to Tomorrow’s
How do you combine an aging structure with today’s available capital to provide a product that competes and meets the needs and desires of the modern resident? Find out in this session, where you’ll hear current data that describes the state of the nursing home sector, including age of properties, revenue, market trends, bed needs and design obsolescence. Two very different case studies – one from national operator Genesis HealthCare Corporation with Formation Capital LLC, and one from California based regional operator Plum Healthcare Group with GI Partners LLP – will demonstrate their individual business cases and explain their rationales for renewing their facilities. You’ll learn how both the operators and equity partners evaluated the merit of investing in older buildings, calculated return on investment and analyzed the market and environmental factors used to determine which types of replacements/renovations would be most beneficial. You’ll get real numbers that explain why modernization is a logical choice, in addition to strategic approaches designed to help you assess, prioritize and implement your own improvements.
