NIC and ASHA have collaborated to produce a definitive overview of construction activity in the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. The report, 2008 NIC/ASHA Seniors Housing Construction Trends Report, contains a detailed count of all construction activity in senior apartments, independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home and CCRC properties as of March 2008. Construction activity is reported by product type, both in absolute numbers and as a percentage of existing supply, across the top 100 metropolitan markets.  The growth of the industry back to 1985 is presented as well, by type of unit.  Activity within the individual 100 markets can be found in the report also.  The 2008 NIC/ASHA Seniors Housing Construction Trends Report was released at the 18^th Annual NIC Conference in Chicago.
